 Meanjin Writer's Camp

studentinlibrary.jpgIt’s exciting to share that great writing has been happening around St Rita’s of late. Three Year 5 girls were fortunate enough to attend the Meanjin writer’s camp a fortnight ago and worked with Morris Gleitzman! Needless to say, they returned with great enthusiasm and stories to share about the day. Their reflection can be seen below. We also celebrate Noah T (4K) whose story received an award in the Write 4 Fun competition. Noah’s story will go into the next round of judging and his story will be published in the Write 4 Fun 2017 booklet. What a tremendous way to be acknowledged! Lastly, congratulations to all the year 5 students who entered the 2017 Literacy Competition: Maite T, Abbie G, Elle A, Brayden D, Hannah W and Rowan R. Keep up the Great Effort!

Reflection on Meanjin Writer’s Camp
Two week ago we attended a writing camp aged from grades 3 to 9. We saw Morris Gleitzman and he talked about how to put a story together. Then we saw Greg Driese and he talked about using your passion for story writing. Finally, we saw Karen Tyrrle. Karen taught us to go with your mindset. We had a great time! By Elle, Abbie and Maite (Year 5).
